Kabaye Mwale

Mr Mwale is Finance Director of the Energy Regulation Board.

Mr Mwale previously served as a Tax and Compliance Consultant with Upstreet Consultancy Services, and was a Lecturer at the University of Lusaka, and Finance Director for the Zambian Revenue Authority among other high-level positions. He has expertise in the fields of compliance, performance management, tax policy and implementation, financial systems reforms management, project management, and e-payment systems.

 

Mr Mwale holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree earned from the University of Glamorgan (UK). He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, and is an Associate of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is a Chartered Accountant (FCCA), Chartered Arbitrator (ACIArb) and an Associate Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE).

 

Mr Mwale also has international and local leadership experience having been part of diverse Professional teams including National Tax Policy Review Committee, OECD Informal Task Force on Tax and Development, Disciplinary Committee of the Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants, SADC Tax Sub-Committee, ACCA ad hoc Committee on Competence Framework, Single Treasury Steering Committee at MoFNP, and Financial Systems Reform Committee (Bank of Zambia).

 

The CIDRZ Finance and Audit Committee is a committee of the Board of Directors responsible for oversight of the financial reporting process including the quality, transparency and integrity of the financial statements, selection of the independent auditor, and receipt of both internal and external audit results.

 

The committee assists the Board of Directors fulfil its corporate governance responsibility in relation to CIDRZ’s financial reporting to ensure it is in compliance to the relevant legal requirements, the internal control system, the risk management system, and the internal and external audit functions.

 

The Committee’s role is to provide advice and recommendations to the Board within the scope of its terms of reference. The Committee meets quarterly and is chaired by Mr Patrick Wanjelani. Committee members are Mrs Beatrice Grillo and Mr Kabaye Mwale.
