Dr Stewart Reid, MD, FRCP(C), MPH, DTM&H is Senior Technical Advisor – TB
Dr Reid is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an Internal Medicine specialist, board-certified in both the U.S. and Canada and holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Lima, Peru and an MPH – International Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA.
Stewart has lived in Zambia since 2002 and serves as Senior Advisor and Mentor for the CIDRZ Tuberculosis Department Unit and is an Investigator on the U.S. National Institutes of Health HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) and HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN), as well as the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development and other non-network studies.
His research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in HIV-infected patients and vulnerable populations, and operations research related to provision of health care in resource-limited settings.
