CIDRZ Deputy CEO Dr Zuzu Sikazwe with Lusaka Provincial Medical Officer Dr Kennedy Malama exiting the Hot FM Radio Outside Broadcasting booth at CIDRZ after announcing Child Health Week in Zambia.

During his joint interview, Dr Malama thanked “CIDRZ for working with the Government of the Republic of Zambia to fill gaps in the health sector in Zambia”

This December’s Child Health Week the Ministry of Health is focusing on the usual child health week activities of routine immunisations, but are also emphasizing the need for Vitamin A supplementation and deworming to ensure that children grow healthy and strong.

Another supported health initiative ties into the recent World AIDS Day activities and is advocating for parents and guardians to “Know every child’s HIV status” and of course bring them to treatment and care. In order to achieve an AIDS free generation we need to ensure that all our children – and especially those from HIV infected parents are tested and provided treatment if needed.

It was great fun to have the HOT FM broadcasting booth at CIDRZ and gave an opportunity for our hard-working staff that are usually busy in the field to reach a larger audience to sensitise about needed health programs.
