CIDRZ runs a state-of-the-art Medical Diagnostic and Research Laboratory in the Kalingalinga area of Lusaka, The laboratory supports research activities and provides medical diagnostic services to individual clients and projects by perfoeming a wide range of assays in the following disciplines:

Accreditation
As CIDRZ Central Laboratory we pride ourselves of an unwavering focus on quality of results offered to our clients. We boast of a robust documented Quality Management System that has seen the Laboratory obtaining accreditation based on ISO 15189 Standard. The ISO 15189 is the International Standard that specifies requirements for Quality and Competency in Medical Laboratories.
The Laboratory obtained accreditation with the Southern African Development Community Accreditation Services (SADCAS) following review of the Laboratory’s Quality Management System. We have been accredited for Quality and Competency in a variety of Disciplines including Haematology, Microbiology, Serology, Molecular Biology and Clinical Chemistry.
We are regularly audited by the National Health Institute Division of AIDS (DAIDS) through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAIDS) Research support services to ensure our competency in providing Laboratory testing and specimen processing services to various Clinical Trials.
The Laboratory is also registered and Certified competent to provide Medical Laboratory diagnostic services in Zambia by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
CIDRZ Central Laboratory is also accredited by the National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA), to provide a wide range of Laboratory diagnostic Services to Zambians.
To ensure the quality of results provided to our clients, the Laboratory consistently participates in various proficiency testing schemes offer by Various EQA providers including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), United Kingdom External Quality Assessment Service (UKNEQAS), Duke Human Vaccine Institute- Virology Quality Assurance program (VQA), Oneworld Accuracy among others.
