As CIDRZ continues to strengthen TB research to improve health outcomes, our Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Monde Muyoyeta, recently visited Kitwe in the Copperbelt Province to provide oversight of the implementation of the INTRO TB VAX Study and to engage key stakeholders supporting tuberculosis research.
Dr Muyoyeta, who is the Principal Investigator for the study, undertook the visit to assess progress and strengthen collaboration with local partners involved in the study’s implementation across the region.
During the visit, the Chief Scientific Officer met with key stakeholders supporting the study across multiple sites, fostering dialogue and coordination to ensure a smooth implementation.
The INTRO TB VAX Study aims to estimate the prevalence of Tuberculosis Infection (TBI) and assess vaccine preparedness among populations attending selected community venues.
The study will enrol approximately 2,800 adolescents and adults aged 15 years and older using a cross-sectional design that combines both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to generate comprehensive evidence.
