CIDRZ’s P2G Project and G4G Zambia Collaborate to Empower 28 Adolescent Peers with Refresher Mentorship.

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia, through its ViiV Healthcare-funded Pregnant Parenting Girls (P2G) project, proudly partnered with Girls for Girls (G4G) Zambia to conduct a refresher mentorship program for 28 adolescent peers from 11 health facilities across Lusaka District.

The mentorship program aimed to equip adolescent peers with the skills to mentor 2,000 adolescent girls within the P2G project.

And one of the participants, Abigail Zulu, appreciated the training , noting particularly the knowledge gained on the importance of confidentiality and trust-building when supporting HIV-positive girls.

“One of the things that stood out for me during this training is the significance of building trust, especially when working with HIV-positive adolescent girls. Confidentiality is crucial to establishing a supportive environment for them,” she  said.

The mentorship training focused on building trust, mastering communication, negotiation skills, leadership development, and proficiency in monitoring and evaluation.
