The 2024 Zed Corporate Soccer League reached a thrilling conclusion today, with Dangote clinching the National League finals.
Despite the disappointment in the finals against Dangote, CIDRZ was declared the team of the season for their electrifying brand of football, which frequently had fans on their feet.
CIDRZ CEO, Dr Izukanji Sikazwe, who has been a steadfast supporter throughout the season, even joining some training sessions, described the experience as incredible.
“It has been an amazing journey. I have loved attending these games from the very beginning. They have helped build relationships and strengthen our working collaborations and partnerships. I hope the league continues next year, and we participate again,” she said.
Dr Sikazwe added that despite today’s loss and finishing second in the National League, CIDRZ remained champions in her eyes.
CIDRZ Human Resource Director, Mrs Mwansa Lombe, echoed this sentiment, stating that the Zed Corporate League had exceeded her expectations.
“Most people are confined to their offices, but these games offer a chance for interaction at all levels. When employees from different departments and projects come together, it fosters team spirit,” she said.
Mrs Lombe emphasised that the Zed Corporate League games helped staff bond and get to know each other better.
CIDRZ also used the match to pay their last respects to the late CIDRZ Human Resource Manager – Rewards and Employee Relations, Mr Gerald Muche, who was laid to rest on December 17th, 2024. Mr Muche was also the patron of the CIDRZ team.
