CIDRZ Equips Levy Mwanawasa Medical University Teaching Hospital

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded ACHIEVE program, now Proud-Z donated equipment worth over ZMW 930,000.00 to Levy Mwanawasa Medical University Teaching Hospital.

Donated items include six (06) Oxygen Concentrators 2D -LPM complete with installation, three (03) Oxygen Regulator Flowmeter Gauges, three (03) Oxygen Regulator High-flow wall mounted flowmeter Gauges, and thirty-two (32) Suction machines all valued at ZMW 933,507.00

And speaking on behalf of CIDRZ Board and Management during the handover ceremony held at Levy Mwanawasa Medical Teaching Hospital, Dr Mwanza Wa Mwanza who is the Director – Clinical Care Services at CIDRZ thanked the institution for the continued services it is rendering to the Zambian people and for acknowledging receipt of the supplies.

Receiving the donation, Lusaka Provincial Health Director Dr Consity Mwale thanked CIDRZ for the continued support to the province and the Ministry of Health at large. Mr Mwale who was represented by the Chief planner at the Lusaka Provincial Health Office Mr Muleya expressed gratitude and promised CIDRZ that all the donated items shall be put to good use.

And Levy Mwanawasa Medical University Teaching Hospital Superintendent, Professor John Musuku thanked CIDRZ for coming in with the donated items at the right time when the hospital had budget constraints despite planning to procure the said items. “This will help us to meet our needs buy diverting the other funds we budgeted for these items to procure other items which we need as an institution,” said Prof. Musuku.
