CIDRZ holds stakeholder meeting with Health Facility In-Charges in Lusaka District

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) through the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded PROUD-Z project, held a stakeholder meeting with health facility In-Charges from eighteen (18) government health centers in Lusaka district.

The objective of the meeting was to look at Viral Load (VL) coverage among people living with HIV on ART, across health facilities in Lusaka Urban in order to identify challenges and brainstorm on possible solutions. Viral load coverage remains one of the indicators lagging in the fight against HIV, therefore preventing the achievement of epidemic control.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to revamp the Viral Load championship program and learn best practices from each facility.

Health Facilities represented during the meeting include: Chelstone Zonal Hospital, Chilenje General Hospital, Chipata General Hospital, Chawama General Hospital, Matero General Hospital, Kanyama General Hospital, Matero Clinic, Railway Clinic, Mtendere Health Centre, Kalingalinga Health Centre, Chazanga Health Center, Ngombe Health Centre, George Health Centre, Kamwala Health Centre, Kanyama West, Makeni Health Centre, Bauleni Heath Centre and Kabwata Health Centre.
