Health Minister Sylvia Masebo Launches Tuberculosis National Interschools Singing Competition in Kabwe on World Tuberculosis Day.

The Minister of Health, Ms Sylvia Masebo, launching the Tuberculosis National Interschools Singing Competition, during the World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, which was celebrated in Makululu Compound in Kabwe, Central Province.

Health Minister Sylvia Masebo launched the Tuberculosis (TB) National Interschools Singing Competition during the commemorations of the World TB Day in Kabwe.

Ms. Masebo expressed gratitude to all stakeholders promoting the fight against TB while highlighting the importance of initiatives such as the TB National Interschools singing competition in driving meaningful change and emphasizing continued collaboration towards eradicating TB in Zambia.

CIDRZ, through its United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’ Tuberculosis Local Organisation Network (TBLON) project in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of General Education Zambia are championing this interschools singing competition initiative, which aims to foster awareness about TB while dispelling prevalent misconceptions surrounding the disease.

Meanwhile Access Bank Zambia Limited Managing Director Lishala Situmbeko, represented by Fackson Khwabe, speaking as one of the sponsors of the Interschools singing competition, reiterated the bank’s dedication to supporting the tuberculosis (TB) response and improving access to high-quality healthcare.

“The bank pledges to harness its resources, expertise, and influence to support initiatives to eradicate TB and bolster healthcare services,” he said.

This competition has been made possible with support from the American people through USAID. The competition received further sponsorship through partnership with UNICAF.
