As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the Tuberculosis (TB) response, the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), with support from the Stop TB Partnership, is implementing the TB REACH Wave 11 project aimed at improving lung health through integrated screening, diagnosis, and management of tuberculosis (TB) as well as chronic respiratory diseases at the community and primary healthcare levels.
The TB REACH Wave 11 project promotes integrated service delivery (ISD) through health facility interventions, community outreach, and capacity-building programmes.
It targets TB, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and post-TB lung disease, with a special emphasis on high-risk groups such as health facility patients and industrial workers.
The outcomes expected from this project include enhanced diagnostic accuracy, policy development, healthcare capacity, and specialised care access. The project is being implemented in Kafue District at five health facilities.
