CIDRZ Trains Intervention Workers for Hygiene Trial in Lusaka.

CIDRZ’s Katayi Kazimbaya trains intervention workers on data entry to support behaviour change efforts assessing the impact of hand hygiene promotion and hardware provision on handwashing with soap in Lusaka’s urban and peri-urban areas.

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSTHM), recently conducted a training for intervention workers who will participate in a behavioural change trial study related to the impact of hand hygiene promotion and hardware provision on handwashing with soap in Lusaka’s urban and peri-urban areas.

The trial will be implemented in Chawama, Kanyama, Mpulungu, Chainda, and Mtendere communities. The findings from this trial will help shape hygiene policies and contribute to improved health outcomes in peri-urban Zambia.
