Dr. Micheal S. Saag is a Professor of Medicine with more than 34 years of professional experience in Infectious Diseases, Virology, and Molecular Biology.

Dr. Saag received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry with honours from Tulane University, USA. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Louisville, USA, and he completed his residency and infectious Disease and Molecular Virology fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, UAB, USA. Dr. Saag is the Associate Dean for Global Health Director at UAB Center for AIDS Research. He is the current Chairperson of the CIDRZ Research and Programs Committee.
