Today, the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Elijah Muchima officially welcomed Dr Otto Chabikuli, CIDRZ’s Chief Executive Officer, to his new post in Zambia.
Dr Muchima commended the historical, strategic, and coordinated partnerships with CIDRZ, advising that the organisation’s future plans and strategies continue to align with national frameworks.
Dr Otto shared a bold vision for CIDRZ: to help position Zambia as a regional health and innovation hub of excellence through cutting-edge clinical research and embracing digital technology‑enabled solutions to optimise efficiencies for greater domestic resource mobilisation, and measurable improvements in service delivery.
The CIDRZ entourage, led by the Board Chairperson, Mr Charles Mpundu, thanked the Minister for the guidance and his continued support. He reiterated CIDRZ’s commitment to the strengthening of the Zambian health system, especially the health workforce.
Also in attendance were the CIDRZ Director of Legal and Corporate Services, Mr Ronald Sinkala, CIDRZ Clinical Care Specialist, Dr Natalie Vlahakis, and the CIDRZ Communications Manager, Mr Moses Nsunge.
We thank the Honourable Minister and the Ministry team for this quality partnership and encouragement. Together, we will continue to work toward the improvement of health outcomes for all Zambians and the region.
