The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, recently convened the fourth Advisory Committee Meeting for its Person-Centred Approaches to Address Viremia: Connection, Rapport and Engagement (P-CORE) Study. The meeting reviewed study progress to date and provided strategic guidance on strengthening person-centred interventions for clients with high viral loads.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders and technical experts from the Ministry of Health at National, Provincial and District levels, the National AIDS Council (NAC), and the Network of Zambian People Living with HIV (NZP+). Since its inaugural meeting earlier this year, the Advisory Committee has played a crucial role in providing advice, insights, and recommendations to support effective implementation of the study.
The P-CORE Study applies human-centred design to develop and evaluate a tailored, scalable, and sustainable person-centred package across 24 public health facilities in Lusaka and Central Provinces. The study aims to improve retention in care and achieve sustained viral suppression among populations disproportionately affected by HIV.
